A girl named Emma, got invited to compete in an international gymnastic competition. She boards the plane but does not realize that she will have a layover in another city. She ends up in a desert in Kalgoorie instead of Sydney where the competition was being held. After a lot of walking, Emma sees a koala named Coco in a tree. After a brief introduction, the two strike up a friendship. They spend many days together, talking and playing. Then one tragic day, a dust storm comes and separates the two.
