Nedjie Aurelien is a first generation immigrant from Tabarre, Haiti, who has been writing since she was a little girl. She’s shown a strong passion for using her voice to enact change and considers the impact of her family to be the most important influence in her writing journey. Following the death of her cousin in 2021, Nedjie has been able to express her experience with grief through poetry, showing the importance of grief awareness with her words. Nedjie aims to pursue a career in journalism with the aspiration of being a catalyst of hope in every space that she enters.
