Will finding a home mean losing a friend?
It started like any other day: waking up, saying goodbye to the family, taking care of business. But when The Big Wind strikes, bringing tragedy with it, one young German Shepherd’s life is turned upside down.
Battling intense winds, something dreadful called “hail,” and his own training, this petrified puppy finally escapes his yard and certain danger. But serious injuries land him in an animal hospital, and his family is nowhere to be found.
Soon, he has a new friend (a Belgian Malinois pup named Tanner), a new place to sleep, new hijinks to get into (some involving donuts), even a new name. Things are definitely looking up for Toast . . . but deep down, he wonders if he’ll ever have a family again.
Together, Toast and Tanner navigate the difficult journey from recovery to rehoming, until a final ill-timed romp threatens to derail their chance at a happily-ever-after. Will the two fast friends find their fur-ever homes—and lose each other?
